Hey Folks,
Billy and I have set the Wasatch Trenchin' dates to 5 March thru 7 March, Friday thru Sunday at Solitude, Snowbasin and then Park City respectively.  ( not that we're very respective to Park City Mountain Resort for last years carpet yanking )  The format will be as informal as it was last year with a "flash Demo" basically out of the back of our trucks.  We feel that this motivates riders to actually ride most of the day.  Bring your boots and bindings.  Boards will be available to set up between 8:00 and 9:00 and then we're closing the truck and jumping on the lift.  Please bring tools for setting your binders to any board you might want to take out or just show up for a group ride with your own gear.  We're really focused on making the WTC a community ride event.  There will be no demo fees this year but if you take out a board from Hardbooter's fleet, you will be obligated to sign a release form for obvious reasons.  Lunch will follow at 1130 till 1230.  During this time, you may switch out gear from HB if you decide to.  We'll need gear back at 1430-1500.  Apres get togethers will be announced as we get closer.  Please feel free to contact us for ideas on the event as well as after ride events.  We were thinking sushi one night, Beers at the Bayou for another and so on.  We'll keep the dates super liquid so if it's dumping the whole weekend with significant amounts of snow, we can shuffle the dates to the next weekend.

More to come….

My wife and I are going to be in Park City from 3/4 - 7 and I hope to be able to hook up with you folks for at least part of the time.  We're sharing cars with some family members so I probably won't make it to Solitude or Snowbasin.  I'll have a red Smith helmet, black pants, black/orange Heads and a black Prior ATV, or a greenish Venture Zephyr.  Lookin' forward to seeing some trenches or pencil lines, depending on the snow.

The name' s Dennis.  We'll have a laptop or two along, so I'll be watching for rendezvous info.

You can get discount Tickets for Basin at Alpine Sports Ogden, Canyon Sports in SLC or Ogden and save 10.00. I would try this before buying tickets up at the hill.

I'll contact Yetty up at the 'basin and see if we can get some group discount.  He's usually really good about hooking us up as he is also a Hardbooter.  I'll check at Solitude and Park City too for some sort of discount.  For Park city, we'll have to have at least 20 people for a group discount so I'll have Skully make a sign-up list somewhere.  Please stay posted on this and pass it on to anyone you can think of that will need a PC ticket on Sunday.

Hi Dave & Billy,
It looks like a storm is coming Thurs. into Fri. Was wondering if you were thinking about rebooting for the next week. Just trying to make plans.

Thanks, Ron

Looks like 12-18 coming in for the mountains tomorrow.  Maybe we can regroup on a more carve friendly day?  Thoughts?

That sounds like a great spot for a meet.  We'll see you there around 0850.  I'll have the truck full of boards to swap out if you're interested in riding something different from 0800 til' around 0845.  Looks like it will be pretty soft.  Hopefully SB groomers will roll out the fresh nicely.

I just spoke with Jarvis about Solitude.  We've decided that it would be best to reschedule the Solitude ride day for next weekend.  There's just too much snow coming in to try and make it happen for Friday the fifth.  Jarvis is going to contact other Solitude riders and decide on either Friday or Saturday of next weekend.  It's a toss up between a Friday with less traffic but less attendees due to work and Saturday with more traffic and more riders.  We'll keep you posted.

The best ticket deals are at Canyon Sports http://www.canyonsports.com/content/?page=LIft%20Ticket%20Pricing and Ski in See http://www.skinsee.com/tickets.html.  These are the same prices the ticket booth was offering us as a group.  Check the link for addresses and details.

All for now but stay posted....

I vote for next Saturday at Solitude. Unless I can convince a group to ride the Canyon's next Saturday. Let me know what the deal is for next weekend.

Had a pretty nice day on firm groomers at PC today, riding my Prior ATV.  Met Skate for a few runs and some welcome advice.  Spent a lot of time riding McKonkey's bumps with nephew (good skier) and grandnephew (SLC denizen and killer skier).  Sister in law Susan broke her wrist on a green run - first damage in 50 years of skiing, including teaching for Stein Eriksen long ago in Vermont.  She's a trouper, though.

Looks like some powder tomorrow so I'll be out on my Venture Zephyr - 28.5 wide aircraft carrier and softboots.  Lovely softboot carver.  Hope to see some of you if the pow keeps you in the area.

Thanks
